Veteran Davaoeno runners rule Kadayawan 200K Ultramarathon race
DAVAO CITY---Two veteran runners from Region 11 won the tough Kadayawan 200-kilometer ultramarathon race, which started from Koronadal City in South Cotabato to the Davao City Coastal Road on August 21-24.

Harejie Huerbana, a member of Sta. Cruz Trail Runners in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur won the male category.

The second place went to veteran runner and police officer Jonathan Pido.

Pido won a silver medal at the World Police and Fire Games 2022 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on July 28.

Pido, assigned in Governor Generoso Municipal Police Office, won the silver in the Men's 3.2-kilometer open water swimming event.

Meanwhile, Olive Firmeza, a resident of Davao City and member of Team Philhealth, won the female category.

Firmeza, a veteran ultra-marathon racer, is happy and proud of her win.

The second place in the category went to Rish Ornopia of Lamion runners.

A total of 36 runners from all over Mindanao joined the tough race earlier.

The race was organized by veteran race organizer and former runner Roel Amabao-Ano of Basta Bisaya Gahi (BBG), a native of the Baguio district of this city. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
