Santo Tomas LGU to release P3k cash gift to some barangay workers
DAVAO CITY —The Municipal Government of Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte is set to release P3,000 as financial assistance to identified barangay workers on January 5 next year.

This was bared Mayor Ernesto Evangelista in a statement released by the Municipal Information Office on Friday (December 31).


“Kining P3,000 na madawat nila kay pag-ila kini ug pag-appreciate sa tanang sakripisyo ug trabaho nila sa atong mga barangay. Dako ang papel sa mga BRKs, IPMRs, ug mga SK Kagawads sa atong barangay kay apil pud sila sa pag-implement sa mga plano, programa, ug proyekto,” Evangelista said. 



Among those who will receive the cash incentives are Barangay Record Keepers (BRKs), Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councilors, and Indigenous People’s Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs). 


Evangelista said this is the first time under his administration, that Barangay Record Keepers (BRKs), Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councilors, and Indigenous People’s Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) received a financial assistance as a yuletide gift. 


Earlier, the Evangelista administration released the same benefit to Punong Barangays, Barangay Treasurer, Barangay Secretary, Barangay Kagawads, and the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons. 


For her part, Municipal Administrator lawyer Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña said that the Evangelista administration has manifested support already to the Magna Carta for Barangay Act filed by Senator Christopher Lawrence Go which aims to provide barangay officials additional compensation similarly accorded to a regular government employee as well as other benefits to promote their welfare.


Evangelista-Lapiña said the importance of giving benefits and incentives for barangay health workers is to promote and protect their economic, social, and political rights and well-being and ensure quality health services delivery in the grassroots level.
