Mayor Ernesto Evangelista in a statement on Saturday (Dec. 4) said people who are set to receive the financial assistance are the Punong Barangays, Barangay Treasurer, Barangay Secretary, Barangay Kagawads, and the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons.
“Atong i-release next week ang ilang maayuhon isip pag-ila sa ilang kahago ug sakripisyo luyo aning pandemya. Naghinaut ako na kini makatabang pud sa panginahanglan sa matag pamilya sa atong mga trabahante sa barangays (We will release their compensation next week as recognition to their sacrifices amid pandemic. I am hoping that this will help to the needs of their family) ,” he said.
Evangelista said that he personally wrote the Office of The President to seek the availment of the financial assistance for 19 barangays. The request letter was sent last October 28 and was received by the OP on the same day. a
On Friday, Evangelista received a cheque from OP amounting to P627, 000 as financial assistance for the Christmas season.
207 individuals will receive P3, 000 each once the documents have been processed by the Municipal Treasurer’s Office for its eventual release.

Municipal Administrator lawyer Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña said for her part, the request of the Evangelista administration to seek financial assistance for the barangay workers was a recognition of their hard work, dedication, and service in their respective communities.
Evangelista-Lapiña said the Municipal Government is doing its best to find funding coming from the national government programs so that many residents of the town will benefit from their programs. (Armando Fenequito)
