Acknowledging the vital role of barangay officials as the government's frontliners, Go expressed his gratitude for their dedication and sacrifices in serving their communities.
“As I always say, you are all superstars in your own right. Your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to serving your communities inspire all of us,” Go added.
Go reiterated his commitment to empowering barangay officials through legislative initiatives that recognize their indispensable role in governance and public service.
Among these is his support for Republic Act No. 11462, which postponed the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections to allow local officials to focus on implementing programs and delivering essential services to their constituents without disruptions brought about by electoral preparations.
The senator likewise underscored his push for digital governance reforms to make government services more efficient, transparent, and accessible. He is among the authors and co-sponsors of RA 12023, or the E-Governance Act, which institutionalizes the digitalization of government processes and services.
Go also renewed his call for the passage of Senate Bill No. 178, or the proposed Magna Carta for Barangays, which seeks to provide barangay officials with benefits comparable to those enjoyed by regular government employees, including improved compensation, protection, and welfare.
At nag-file rin po ako ng Magna Carta for Barangay Officials,” Go said.
Recognizing the important role of barangay health workers in primary healthcare delivery, Go also cited SBN 412, or the proposed Magna Carta for Barangay Health Workers, which seeks to institutionalize security of tenure, adequate compensation, and benefits for barangay health workers.
Beyond his support for grassroots governance, Go has also been actively advocating for improved access to education in Davao Oriental. He co-sponsored RA Nos. 12094 and 12095, which established two new national high schools in the province—Manikling National High School in San Isidro and Maputi National High School in Banaybanay. Go also acknowledged the officers of the LNB Davao Oriental Provincial Chapter led by President Board Member Jossone Michael G. Dayanghirang, Vice President Daniel Y. Macaubos, Secretary Clemente I. Gera, Treasurer Anebelle M. Rosit, Auditor Noli L. Sobrecarey, and Board Directors Edison M. Sisor and Wilfredo C. Baliguat.
Concluding his message, Go emphasized that meaningful progress is achieved through strong collaboration between the national government and local leaders.
Thank you for your continued service and commitment,” he underscored.
