LTFRB-XI distributes fair matrices to public transportation units
DAVAO CITY (PIA)- With the implementation of the new fare hike effective October 3, the Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board XI i(LTFRB-XI) s currently distributing fare matrices to transportation operators in the region based on set schedule.

To get their fare matrix at the LTFRB, transport operators are required to bring the latest official receipt/certificate of registration, franchise verification, copy of provisional authority (for those who have not yet been issued a decision), and official receipt of payment.

The schedule for the release of the fare matrices began on September 29 (for public utility buses), Sept. 30 (Taxi units), October 3 (Public Utility Jeepneys Routes A-C), October 4 (PUJs routes D-M), October 5 (PUJ Routes P-W), October 6 (all routes and denominations, Davao del Sur PUJs), October 7 (All routes/denominations, Davao del Norte PUJs).

The new fare hike cannot be implemented if the units do not have new fare matrix posted on their units. A P5,000 penalty is accorded to violators.

“Kinahanglan naka plastar ang mga fare matrix sa mga sakyanan aron makita sa atong riding public kung pila dyud ang insaktong plitihan sa mga paingnan nila lugar. In case ang atong mga driver will not be able to present the matrix wala silay katungod maningil sa bayad (The fare matrix must be posted in the vehicle so the riding public can see the exact fare to their destinations, in case our drivers will not be able to present the matrix they do not have the right to collect for the fare),” LTFRB-11 Regional Director Nonito Llanos III said.

The new fare hike covers a P12 base fare for traditional PUJs with P1.80 for each succeeding kilometer. Modern PUJ also got a P1 fare hike with a P13 base fare and P2.20 for succeeding kilometers.

Included in the fare hike are public utility buses (PUB). For regular City PUB, the new base fare is P13, with additional P2.25 per succeeding kilometer.  For air-conditioned City PUB, the new base fare is P15 from P13 with P2.65 added for succeeding kilometers. Regular Provincial PUB is now P11, with an additional P1.90 per succeeding kilometer.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Davao (LTFRB XI) Enforcement Unit recently conducts roadside operations in Davao City.
