Evangelista lauds Tomasinos for donations to Odette-hit areas
DAVAO CITY –Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte Mayor Ernesto Evangelista lauded his constituents after giving in-kind donations to families in Surigao that were affected by Typhoon Odette.

The Municipal Government of Santo Tomas through Dangpanan Ni Tomas had initiated a donation drive to extend assistance to the families who survived the brunt of typhoon Odette in Surigao province.

“Salamat sa tanang Tomasinos, individual man or grupo, nga nihatag sa ilang oras og hinabang para sa mga naapektuhan sa bagyong Odette. Nakig-alayon kita sa 89th IB Makatao Battalion para mahatod nato ang mga in-kind donation sabay didto sa Davao City LGU. Nalipay kita kay makahatag kita og tabang sa atong mga igsoon sa Surigao,” he said. 

Private individuals and several groups donated foods and other items to Dangpanan Ni Tomas in response to the Santo Tomas LGU’s donation drive. 

The donations included used clothings, sacks of rice, gallons of mineral water, noodles, food packs, and hygiene packs intended for residents of Siargao.

The donors are Knights of Columbus Council 8926, PUMARVEA, Santo Tomas LGU, Dangpanan Ni Tomas, Carolina Morales,  Jenlyn Pimentel, Joe Bayucot,  Jason Delos Reyes of IPI,  Christine Ledesma,  Grace Senining,  Raline Gubalane, Rene Bongabong, and Engr. Mario Rebote.

Evangelista said he also thanked the AFP’s 89th IB “Makatao” Battalion under the helm of Battalion Commander LTC DONALD GAFUD for being the logistics partner of the Santo Tomas government.
