CCD’s Vice President for Administration Jamaico Magayo emphasized college’s recent achievement of receiving a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This recognition ensures that the college’s programs meet CHED’s policies, standards, and guidelines.
The college offers three main undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BS ENTREP), Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (BECED), and Bachelor in Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED). The latter includes two majors— Computer Programming and Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
Magayo said that while the institution plans to expand its course offerings in the future, its current priority is to secure Institutional Recognition (IR) from CHED.
Applications for the upcoming school year will be from April 14 to 23, with the CCD conducting a readiness assessment on April 26 and 27 for incoming students. This process evaluates applicants’ preparedness without requiring a grade minimum. Priority will be given to Indigenous People (IP) communities, ensuring inclusivity in the admission process.
“But it is not an admission (test) it is a readiness assessment. Ginatawag namo ni’ng City College of Davao readiness assessment. Mao ni ilahang i-take nga exam (The City College of Davao calls it a readiness assessment. This is what they will take),” he said.
Required documents include recent senior high school report cards, ALS certificates for ALS (Alternative Learning System) completers, transcripts for transferees, and PSA birth certificates.
Magayo also shared that CCD currently has 34 faculty members, with plans to hire additional teaching personnel in the next semester to support its growing student population.
For updates on the enrolment process, he encourages interested applicants to monitor its Official Facebook Page for announcements. CIO
