A couple was arrested in a buy-bust operation on August 29, 2025, at around 11:50 P.M., in Purok 2, Sto. Niño, Barangay Central, Mati City in Davao Oriental.
The couple, identified as alias Habib and alias Mat, who was arrested by agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police after selling a one piece small elongated plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to an undercover agent posing as a buyer.
Five large square heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of fifty grams and the marked buy-bust money were also seized during the operation.
Cases for violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against them.
