Itzy’s world tour opens 2023 PH international concert scene
Korean Pop girl group Itzy opened the international concert for 2023 as they perform live at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City for the two-day sold-out concert over the last weekend.

Itzy’s leader Hwang Yeji, main vocalist Choi Jisu - popularly known as Lia, center Shin Ryujin, main dancer Lee Chaeryeong and maknae Shin Yuna pumped up their Filipino Midzys (Itzy fandom name) with their fiery performance of its title tracks from their released albums on Saturday and Sunday (January 14 and 15, 2023).

The group opened it with a fire burning performance of one of their title tracks – Mafia in the morning from their album Guess Who?, that sets the mood of the concert inside the arena.

With the balance of swag and charm, the crowd were going loco over their performances and even made the audience bop as they also sang and danced to their hit songs such as their debut song Dalla Dalla, Wannabe, Not Shy, Icy, Sneakers and Cheshire.

The solo performance of their members also showcased the uniqueness of their talents as individuals that made the audience love them more as they cheered for their respective idol in the group.

During the in-between break, Ryujin said they really love the energy of the Filipino fans which made them give up to the maximum of their performance because the cheers energized and inspired them to give more than their best on stage.

“We are so happy to be on stage, thanks to Midzy’s cheering and energy,” she said.

The group’s center admitted to the fans that some of their songs have complicated choreography particularly Dalla Dalla, Wannabe and Sneakers, that made them easily tired in  performing; but the fans' chant kept them electrified.

For her part, Yeji said she is very thankful for the memorable concert they had done in the Philippines which was their first stop for their Asian-leg of Checkmate: Itzy’s First World Tour Concert in 2023.

The group’s leader made a statement that the group will be working hard so that they could come back in the country for another performance.

In 2019, Itzy first came in the Philippines months after their debut, for a fan meeting.
