CDRRMO Head Alfredo Baloran told Madayaw Davao that Davao City's main infrastructure is 'manageable' and did not suffer from major damages after the twin quakes.
"Immediately after atong second ground shaking, nag assess dayon ang atong team and then wala ma'y reported nga major damages," he said.
Baloran said that the City Government of Davao activated its Emergency Operation Center, composed of the response clusters with the Department of Public Works and Highways anf the City Engineer's Office, and conducted rapid assessment of the city's major infrastructure both on Friday and Saturday.
"From time to time gina-pangutana gyud nako ang status sa atong roads and bridges--passable siya and no major damage, kung naa ma'y hairline cracks, the roads are worthy for general public," he said.
Baloran said that they also prioritized checking tagged establishments during previous quakes such as the Matina Overpass, however, the overpass did not have major cracks and is passable as it has gone retrofitting.
Baloran said that the round the clock rapid assessment continues to check buildings for public safety.
As of Monday, they also did not receive reports of further casualties from earthquakes aside from Friday's fatality.
Meanwhile, hospitals also did not report patients in critical condition due to the earthquake.
"Most man ato sa ground lang sila gi-applyan og first aid. Nag walk in lang sa hospital. Walay feedback ang hospitals nga nay na-admit tungod sa earthquake," he said.
As earthquakes remain unpredictable and may continue to be felt within the city, Baloran urged Dabawenyos to practice by heart what they learned during the earthquake drills and avoid panic. CIO
