Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesman of Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said that two cases were filed by Bajada Police Station against the suspect identified as Rhialyn Cayatano Herrera, 36, a native of Castillejos Zambales City, and is currently residing at Barangay Mintal, Tugbok District this city.
Tuazon said that after they received the information about the whereabouts of the child, the police immediately went to the place on Friday morning (Oct. 13) where the suspect resides at Owl St. Corner Molave St. Mintal relocation Tugbok.
The authorities caught Herrera in possession of the baby at her residence.
The rescued baby was immediately brought to Holy Spirit Hospital in Mintal for immediate medical check up and was declared in good stable condition.
The arrested suspect was temporarily detained at Bajada Police Station and will undergo summary inquest proceedings.
The 26-year-old mother of the rescued baby from Surigao City personally reported the said kidnapping to the authorities on Thursday afternoon.
Investigation disclosed that Herrera offered the baby’s mother to carry the child as the latter was busy pumping breast milk. However, a few minutes later, the respondent suddenly disappeared.
