Davaoeno siblings Sydney Sy-Tancontian and Chino Sy-Tancontian, two of the best PH sambo players, will compete in the Women's +80 kg Sport Sambo and the Men's -98 kg Sport Sambo, respectively.
Godwin Langbayan in the Men's 64 kg Combat Sambo, Aislinn Agnes Yap in the Women's 80 kg Sport Sambo, Troy Legaspi in the Men's 71 kg Sport Sambo, Janry Pamor in the Men's 58 kg Sport Sambo, Cresente Narvaes in the Men's 64 kg Sport Sambo, and Aumaegel Cortez in the Women's 54 kg Sport Sambo are also competing for the gold medal.
Davaoeno Ace Larida and Jerry Legaspi will coach the team.
The president of Pilipinas Sambo, Paolo Tancontian, thinks that the Samboists' constant practice would enable them to bring home the gold for the nation.
