DAVAO CITY- A police officer was shot dead by an unidentified assailant at National Highway Brgy. Banlag, Monkayo, Davao de Oro, Sunday afternoon (Sept. 11).
PSMS Rey Binalangbang assigned at Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office had just stepped down from his pick up vehicle when he was attacked by unknown suspect.
The victim was rushed to Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital but was declared dead by his attending physician Dr. Rodolfo O. Rimando Jr due to several gunshot wounds in his body.
Colonel Benedicto Faco, the PNP Provincial Director assures that the PNP will act swiftly so that justice will be served to the family of Binalangbang.
Faco strongly condemned the killing of his personnel as he appealed to the public and everyone who has information that could help the resolution of the case to coordinate with the local police.
Police are still trying to establish the motive of the killing.
