Up to 5,000 beneficiaries received P10,000 each. These recipients are those affected by the El Nino phenomenon. They are from at least 16 municipalities and one city of the province.
Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza described the beneficiaries as those who received government assistance for the first time.
She said she asked the different local government unit leaders to look for farmers, fisherfolk, and families who have yet to receive financial assistance from the government in their entire lives and become the first batch of beneficiaries for the P50 million presidential assistance.
“If there is financial assistance from the government, I want to make sure many can access it, not only a few,” Mendoza said.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos, Jr., the special guest of the event stressed the remarkable development of the province after 110 years.
He attributed the province’s progress to good leadership and unity among its people. He thus, described North Cotabato as one of the top-performing provinces in the country.
The PAFF beneficiaries reside in the following local government units (LGUs) : Pigcawayan, Libungan, Alamada, Aleosan, Kabacan, M’lang, Tulunan,Carmen, Banisilan, Matalam, Magpet, President Roxas, Antipas, Arakan, Makilala,and Kidapawan City.
