Female balut vendor alleged killer nabbed
DAVAO CITY- Tugbok Police arrested the suspect behind the death of a female balut vendor shortly after the crime that ensued early morning Wednesday (Dec. 6).

The victim, Edwina Namoc Manlapauz, 44, a resident of Phase 4 Block 70 Lot 35 Deca homes, Barangay Tugbok Proper, Tugbok District, Davao City was stabbed outside of her store at around 3 a.m.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO)  reported that a bystander near the crime scene saw and heard the victim shouting for help.

The police recovered a knife with blood stain at the area  as they suspected it was the same weapon used by the  suspect in killing Manlapauz.

The victim sustained four stabbed wounds at the back of her body causing her death.

In a follow-up operation by the police, the suspect 33 years old Michael Vincent Achedillo, a resident of Mintal, Tugbok District was arrested at San Lorenzo, Barangay Ula, Tugbok District.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesman of DCPO confirmedbthat the suspect is the victim’s boyfriend.

According to her, Manlapauz's murder was a ‘crime of passion.’

Achedillo was charged with murder and currently detained at Tugbok Police Station.
