DSWD shells P156.8 million livelihood aid for low-income families in Davao Region
DAVAO CITY- A total of 14,689 beneficiaries in Davao Region have received livelihood assistance grant (LAG) from the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Each beneficiary received P10,000 to P15,000 worth of capital for their livelihood.

The agency disbursed a total of P156.8 million worth of funds  for LAG. 

In Davao City, a total of 4,890 Davaoeños received the said grant, while there were 2,427 in Davao de Oro, 2,100 beneficiaries in Davao del Norte, 1,479 in Davao del Sur, 734 in Davao Occidental and 3,136 beneficiaries in Davao Oriental. 

LAG is a form of financial assistance granted to low-income families whose livelihoods were affected by the imposition of community quarantine due to COVID-19.

The DSWD’s SLP aims to improve the economic well-being of the vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged individuals and families in communities by mobilizing and empowering the same through the support of the local government units and other government agencies.
