Davaoeno cited for outstanding work in SEA Games
DAVAO CITY—The Philippine Olympic Committee has issued a certificate of recognition to Davaoeno and Pilipinas Sambo president Paolo Tancontian for his outstanding performance as the Deputy Chef de Mission (DCDM) for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia this year.

As DCDM, Tancotian was tasked with taking care of the needs of the SEA Games athletes to ensure they could perform well in their chosen sports.

The excellent performance of Filipino athletes in the biennial meet has shown that Tancontian has done his work excellently.

In a Facebook post, Tancontian expressed his gratitude for the POC recognition.

"Maraming Salamat po! To God Be the Glory! Congratulations also to DCDM Ma’am Len Escollante ❤️🙏😇", Tancontian said.

The Philippines finished sixth overall in the medal standings at the Phnom Penh Games, with 58 gold medals, 85 silver medals, and 117 bronze medals for a total of 260 medals.

This was the nation's best foreign showing in over four decades, since the 1987 edition in Indonesia when it won 59 gold medals. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
