Davao Global Township Phase 1 inaugurated
The 23-hectare Davao Global Township (DGT) seen as Mindanao’s most sustainable central business district was officially inaugurated on Saturday (July 23) at Mc Arthur Highway, Davao City.

The project is under YHEST Realty Development Corporation, a joint venture between Cebu Landmasters Incorporated (CLI), and the Yuson,Huang, and Tan Families of the Villa-Abrille clan of Davao.

CLI chairman and chief executive officer Jose Soberano llI said DGT is expected to further catalyze economic growth for Davao and  its neighboring municipalities by offering a business destination at par with the best in Asia that will host the country’s top corporations, office hubs of BPOs and multinationals companies.

He said the utilities and road networks of the former Davao Golf Club in Davao’s populous Matina District are now almost 100% complete.

YHEST President Fred Yuson, on the other hand said they have laid the groundwork of DGT by building a world-class shopping destination and a six-tower residential complex.

DGT phase 1 includes the township’s first residential development. The East Village at DGT, a commercial area and lifestyle mall DGT City Center, and DGT Cultural Center.

The DGT City Center and Cultural Center are expected to open in 2024.

Three of the six-tower The East Village with 1,087 units were sold out in less than a week in first quarter of 2022. This prompted the opening of the fourth towers with 1,334 units  which are already 90 percent sold valued at P5.25 billion in three-month selling period.

The P700 million lifestyle mall DGT city center with retail, restaurant, and entertainment choices is also progressing smoothly,  Yuson said.

Both projects will be complemented by the P200 million DGT cultural center with showrooms, museum soace, a theater and function room.

Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte in his message delivered by Third District City Councilor Lawyer Sweet Advincula said the DGT will further boost the city’s economic growth and will encourage more local and foreign investments.
