Davao de Oro named tourism destination
DAVAO CITY- The province of Davao de Oro was named by the regional office of the Department of Tourism (DOT) as an important tourism destination in Davao Region.

The province's inclusion in the National and Regional Tourism Development Plan, "The Colors of Mindanao" campaign, the Tourism Promotion Board in its marketing and promotional activities, and the significant tourism circuits of the Davao Region with ready and existing tourist attractions made it a key player in the preferment of the tourism revenue nationwide.

The Provincial Information Office (PIO) in its report said the province has recorded over 3 million tourist visits from January 2020 to June 2022.

Its highlands, coastal, and wellness loops have also proven their significance to the overall impact of tourism returns in the country.

Davao de Oro is recognized for its contribution to the regional tourists' receipts, stay, and arrivals, supported by the data from the tourism office wherein the province was able to revamp from the effects of the pandemic in its tourism industry. 

The province is also a beneficiary of several tourism projects to include TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority) buildings and TRIPPC (Tourism Road Infrastructure Project Prioritization Criteria) road networks, leading to tourism destinations.

It is also a beneficiary of skills enhancement training for the development of its human capital and continuous establishment of the culture of tourism.

The Tourism Office, meanwhile, will be spearheading the Tourism Month Celebration this month of September which will highlight activities that will benefit entrepreneurs and filmmakers and capacitate workers in various tourism workforces in said province.

The month-long activities include TurisTiangge Opening, DdO Ice Cream Festival, Tourism Training Series, 9th Nabunturan Independent Film Exhibition, Turismo Awards, Oath-taking of officers and Launching of DdO Circuits.

A "Capitour! Laag Treats" will also be offered to its employees visiting the province's coastal, highlands, and wellness tourism loops.
