Abude told reporters during the I-Speak Media forum on Thursday (August 5) that they have already submitted to the Sangguniang Panlungsod the routes for closures for the Kadayawan Festival. These are based on the parade route provided by the City Tourism and Operations Office.
He said the expanded regulated closure will start along Jacinto Corner Aurora, Pag-asa, Corner Padre Gomez, Corner Padre Faura, and then Zamora.
Abude explained that this is regulated because if they will not cross Roxas Avenue, they will be allowed to enter the road but only until the closed intersection.
Abude said that they saw the need to expand the road closure because, previously, vehicles that enter Jacinto tended to be trapped due to the closure of Roxas Boulevard towards CM Recto.
The 21 intersections that will be closed are the ones leading to Roxas Boulevard for Pichon: the corners of Bolton, Anda, and Pelayo; for Mabini: Aurora Quezon, Padre Gomez, Pag-asa, and Padre Faura. Corners of Ramon Magsaysay and Camus will also be included.
Abude further said the areas for the Indak-Indak exhibition are Veterans Rotunda located on the corner of C. Bangoy St., Ramon Magsaysay Ave., and Roxas Avenue; the corner near Apo View; and San Pedro Square.
CTTMO will be deploying 980 personnel for the whole duration of the festivities.
The CTTMO augmentation will be among the more than 12,000 integrated safety and security individuals to be deployed for Kadayawan.
