Cotabato is debt-free province
Cotabato Province is now debt-free, as reported by Governor Emmylou "Lala" Taliño-Mendoza during her 2025 State of the Province Address on March 18 at the Provincial Capitol in Amas, Kidapawan City.

This achievement follows the province's complete repayment of all its loans to the Land Bank of the Philippines and the Development Bank of the Philippines.

Additionally, Mendoza highlighted a steady increase in the province's total equity, which reached P15.14 billion in 2024, up from P14.04 billion in 2023 and P13.08 billion in 2022.

A significant factor contributing to this equity growth is the rise in total assets, which were valued at P14.08 billion in 2022, P14.84 billion in 2023, and P15.97 billion in 2024.

This increase indicates that the province has acquired a substantial number of new properties. Mendoza also noted a decline in the province’s liabilities, which decreased from P993.40 million in 2022 to P799.33 million in 2023, followed by a slight increase to P834.65 million in 2024.

This trend further illustrates the province’s strong financial position. In 2024, the province reported a surplus of P769.20 million, which was P122.22 million in 2023 and P1.14 billion in 2022. According to Mendoza, this budget surplus results from the prudent management of the province’s annual budget.

These financial highlights can be attributed to the careful and effective management of the province’s funds, she said.

Mendoza highlighted other accomplishments in Cotabato, including infrastructure projects, healthcare, education, agriculture, tourism, and social services.

She likened the province's progress to a harvest season, emphasizing that determination and united support have led to this success."Cotabato today is strong, resilient, and ready to face any challenge," she said, expressing pride in the province's achievements.
