Cop found dead inside police camp
DAVAO CITY: An official of the Police Regional Office (PRO 11) was found lifeless inside his quarters at Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City, on Monday morning, February 9.
PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez who has a scheduled camp visit on same day, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
Nartatez said the fatality, Lt. Col. Deosar Almasa was seen dead full of blood around 7 am just in time when the latter arrived from the airport.
PRO 11 in its statement said the incident is currently being probe by authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
PRO 11 said that any further information will be released once details are officially verified.
The Police is now appealing to the public to refrain from speculation and to allow the bereaved family the privacy, respect, and compassion they need as they mourn.
The PRO 11 extends its sincere condolences to the family, loved ones, and colleagues for the untimely demise of Almasa.
"We are deeply saddened by this loss. His passing is felt by the entire PRO 11 community, and we stand in solidarity with his family and fellow personnel during this difficult time," the statement said.
