Alleged drug pusher killed in shootout with Sasa police
DAVAO CITY-suspected drug pusher was shot dead during a buy-bust operation at Malagamot corner Estores Road, Panacan, this city, Wednesday early morning.

Sasa Police identified the fatality as Alvin Cariño Makiling alias Alvin, 32 years old, driver, and a resident of Lower Rapnaga Bago Aplaya.

Based on police report,   Makiling was PNP’s (Philippine National Police) top 7 Regional Level-High Valued Individual.

Sasa chief of police, Major Jake Goles said the suspect sensed the presence of the police after selling a big plastic transparent sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops with an estimated street value of P 21,760.00 to a police poseur-buyer.

The suspect instead of surrendering drew his firearm and fired at the poseur-buyer, triggering a shootout. The poseur-buyer cheated death by rolling on the ground.

The suspect was declared dead on arrival by his attending Physician Dr. Noel Edu Paguirigan due to bullet wounds.

Police recovered a revolver .357 owned by the suspect, fired cartridges, and bullets.

Also seized from the suspect was a shabu worth about P70,000; another dried marijuana leaves with street value of P13,000, cellular phone, identification cards, wallet, and buy-bust money.

Golez said the neutralization of the suspect was the result of the intensified campaign of the police to eradicate the proliferation of illegal drugs.
