PESO Office head Lilibeth Pantinople in an interview with the City Information Office (CIO) said that 65 of the 73 individuals hired were for local employment and 8 for overseas positions.
Pantinople said the number is high compared to the other job fairs they have conducted.
"We saw that many are needed by the companies,” Pantinople said.
Pantinople also said there were 275 job seekers listed as “near-hire”, or those who need to undergo further interview or tests, submit additional documentary requirements and take examination prior to hiring.
Of the number, 212 for local positions and 63 cor overseas jobs.
PESO reported that out of the 822 registered job applicants 644 were able to meet the pre-requisites of the job vacancies posted by the employers.
The city also plans to conduct more job fairs especially in far-flung areas and district PESO offices.
Meanwhile, PESO will also conduct job fairs at the Davao City High School exclusive for K-12 graduates on June 15; Davao Central College in Toril on June 24 for all applicants; and in Mintal Gym for retrenched workers and an open for all applicants for local and overseas jobs on July 15.
Another job fair at NCCC Mall Buhangin sponsored by Councilor Marissa Abella on July 15 and on July 29, 2022 at Bunawan Gym which is open for all.
Applicants must be ready with their resumé, school records, and certificates of employment if they have work experience.
They should also wear proper clothes for job interviews.
