The ceremony was held at the Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., Barangay Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro, on July 16, 2025.
Among those who exchanged vows were Diosimo Andales Catarata, 66, alias “Makatindog,” former Secretary of the NPA’s Guerilla Front 3, and Emy Ansag Camilo, 42, alias “Myka,” also a former member of the same unit under Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC). Their love story—shaped by years of struggle and change—culminated in a solemn commitment to family, faith, and a peaceful future.
“Our decision to return to the government wasn’t only for our children’s needs, but also to fully surrender our love, our future, and our family to God,” the couple shared.
Agila Division Commander Major General Allan Hambala congratulated the newlyweds, praising their bold choice to embrace peace —guided by the Constitution and blessed by the Church— as they begin a new chapter in their lives.
“This is more than a wedding —it is a celebration of transformation. Their courage to turn away from conflict and choose peace, love, and faith proves that reconciliation is possible, and that the future can be rewritten with hope,” Hambala stated.
Also among those who tied the knot were Christian Balatero Pastero, alias “Khan” (former Commanding Officer of the NPA Weakened Guerilla Front 33), Catarata’s son Maximo Junior Galos Catarata (former Commanding Officer of Guerilla Front 3), and Ida Marie Montero, alias “Mandy” (former Secretary of Sub-Regional Committee 5) all of SMRC.
The reception followed at the 60IB Headquarters, Camp Morgia, Barangay Doña Andrea, Asuncion, Davao del Norte, where principal sponsors including local officials and military officers have pledged their continued support to the couples as they start their new lives.
