Davao City—Two prominent members of the Pilipinas Sambo team who reside here ruled the Judo competition in the 2022 UAAP season over the weekend.
University of Santo Tomas College varsity members Sydney Sy Tancontian and her younger brother Chino Sy Tancontian won the women's and men's categories of their respective divisions in the UAAP seniors competition.
Due to their outstanding performance in the judo competition, the Tancontian siblings also received most valuable player honors.
Aside from the two, three other members of the Pilipinas Sambos team also won medals in the judo competition.
Aumaegel Princess Cortez won the gold in the women's category.
Meanwhile, Janry Pamor and Troy Legaspi won bronze medals in the men's category.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
