Filipino teen basketball sensation Kai Sotto scored seven points in his debut for the Adelaide 36ers in the team's pre-season 91-87 overtime victory over the Cairns Taipans in the National Basketball League (NBL) Blitz on Sunday.

Sotto played more than 20 minutes in the game and had a decent performance including a two-handed dunk.

The 19-year-old center of the Gilas Pilipinas basketball team also grabbed five rebounds and block one shot in his debut in the Australian league.

Before his NBL debut, the 7-foot-3 center, considered as the Philippines' top NBA prospect has a solid performance against Indonesia and Korea in the country's three wins in the Fiba Asia Cup Qualifiers in Clark, Pampanga last June 16-20, which earned us a slot in the FIBA Asia Cup Championship in August in Indonesia.

Despite his age, Sotto played well for Gilas in its two wins against Korea and its hulking center and a win against Indonesia and its veteran center Lester Prosper.
