Davaoeno cracks national pool for PH U16 men's football team
A Dabawenyo proved that Davao City's football program is one of the best in the Philippines.

Matt Lim, son of New City Commercial Center (NCCC) chief operating officer (CEO) Lafayette Alvarez, has made it to the 30-man national training pool for the Philippine Under-16 National Football Team.

The Philippine U-16 team is now gearing up for the Asian Football Federation (AFF) Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia on August 4.

Of the 30 players in the pool, 23 will make the final team in Indonesia.

The chance of Lim being part of the final 23 is very high since he has represented Davao City and the Philippines in general in local, national, and international football tournaments.

Aside from his skills, what makes Lim a standout football player is his deep dedication to the sport.

Currently, the football community of Davao City is happy and proud that one of its own has made it to the national training pool. (Romeo Braceros Jr.).
