DAVAO CITY---The dream of Davao Occidental Dreamers of having a winning start in the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) Under-21 invitational league on July 7 ended in a nightmare.
The basketeers from Davao Occidental Province fell to the PSL 21U Invitational Cup champions, the Consolacion Sarok Weavers, 76-72 at the Toledo City Sports Center Megadome in Cebu.
The visiting Dreamers, coached by former Ateneo de Davao basketball coach Jess Evangelio, fought hard in the game, but in the end, the defending champion proved itself as the better team.
The team started well in the game, taking a 41-34 lead in the first half.
However, the defending champion rallied in the end to take the win.
