Davao de Oro cager is top 3 in 2022 PBA Draft
DAVAO CITY---Mindanaoan pride was felt inside the Robinsons Place Manila on Sunday for the 2022 PBA draft.

This scenario developed after a lanky center/forward from New Bataan, Davao de Oro, was picked as third overall by Converge FiberXers.

Letran Knights player Jeo Ambohot was picked third after the selection of two Filipino American players as the first and second picks in the draft.

Ambohot is the second player from the little-known province of Davao de Oro to play in the PBA after Blackwater scorer Rey Suerte from Monkayo town.

The  6'7 center plays for the Knights in the 2022 NCAA college basketball finals against the Mapua Cardinals.

Ambohot is also part of the Knights championship team in 2019.

The promising Davaoeño center played a superb match for the Knights in their final victory against the San Beda Red Lions in 2019.

Before his remarkable performance in the finals, Ambohot was also playing well in the elimination round of season 95 of the NCAA.

He is also part of the  23 players eyed for the Gilas Pilipinas training pool for the 2023 Fiba World Cup in the Philippines.

Former national team coach Chot Reyes picked Ambohot because he is a versatile big man who can shoot from the outside and play perimeter defense because of his size. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
