DAVAO CITY—Some of the top athletes who brought honor to Davao City in local, national, and international sports competitions were honored by the city government at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang, Davao City, on April 23.
Among the athletes given recognition in the event dubbed Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat 2023 is Sydney Sy Tancontian, one of the event's speakers.
Tancontian excelled in Pilipinas Sambo, Judo, and Kurash and won local, national, and international medals.
Also recognized is Ernie Gawilan, one of the top paralympic swimmers in the world.
The top chess, football, and para-athletes were also honored at the event (Romeo Braceros Jr.).
