Pilipinas Sambo wins 8 medals in South Korea
DAVAO CITY---The Pilipinas Sambo Federation won eight medals in the Korea Open Sambo Championships held on September 16–17 at the Korea Sambo Center in Cheon-An, South Korea.

Davaoeno siblings Sydney Sy-Tancontian and Chino Sy-Tancontian, two of the best PH sambo players, won the gold medals in the Women's +80 kg Sport Sambo and the Men's -98 kg Sport Sambo, respectively.

Aumaegel Princess Cortez also won gold in the 59-kilogram women.

The other medallists are 64kg SS Troy Estrella, silver; 80 kg  SS Aislinn Yap, silver; 64 kg CS Godwin Langbayan, silver; 88 kg CS Jerry Legaspi, silver; 79 kg SS Jedd Andre Kim, bronze.Davaoeno Ace Larida and Jerry Legaspi coached the team.

The president of Pilipinas Sambo, Paolo Tancontian is pleased and proud of the team's achievement.The Philippine Sports Commission, Great Nutrition Solutions (Igco Milk), Nancy dela Rosa, Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, and James Leetong, the team manager, all supported and sponsored the squad's participation in the international competition.
