PBBM appoints Gaston as newest PSC Commissioner
Richard Bachmann, the chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, welcomed newly appointed commissioner Matthew "Fritz" Gaston, who began working there on March 31.

With the addition of Gaston, the PSC's board now consists of five members, including fellow commissioners Olivia "Bong" Coo, Walter Torres, and Edward Hayco.

As the PSC prepares for a busy rest of the year with a completed board, Bachmann said Gaston's broad expertise and leadership as a sports executive, former athlete, and coach are a great asset.

“I thank His Excellency President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., for appointing Commissioner Gaston as part of the PSC Board,” said Bachmann in a statement.

Now that everyone is working together, the PSC focuses on helping the athletes and the national team prepare for this year's major competitions, including the 32nd Southeast Asian Games and the 19th Asian Games.

In addition, the PSC must collaborate with the Samahang Basketbol ng Philippines through an Inter-Agency Task Force to ensure the 2023 FIBA World Cup is successfully hosted. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
