GAB made the announcement on its official Facebook page on May 5.
On March 12, Suarez won the vacant World Boxing Association Asia super-featherweight crown after knocking out in the 12th round Manolo Fortich Bukidnon boxer Tomjune Mangubat at the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.
Suarez, a native of San Isidro, Davao del Norte remains undefeated after 10 bouts after his win over Mangubat.
In a Facebook post, Suarez gives credit to God for his win.
"The Lord has always given me stellar opportunities, accomplishments, and avenues in proving to the world and myself that in Christ alone I am able," Suarez said.
On December 4, Suarez remained undefeated after nine professional boxing fights by disposing of the former undefeated boxer Delmar Pellio from Metro Manila at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat Paranaque.
Suarez beat Pellio via a unanimous decision 99-89, 99-89, 100-88 in the Super Featherweight division.
On September 4, Suarez remained undefeated after the 8th professional boxing fight after he beat with a fourth-round knockout Lorence Rosas of Puerto Princesa, Palawan at Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
Suarez sent Rosas to the canvas with a body shot to the liver to retain his spotless record in a boxing match dubbed Quest for Glory.
Coming into the fight, Suarez is confident of his chances against Rosas since he won his seventh professional boxing match after defeating dangerous Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental boxer Eduardo “Nightmare” Mancito on July 3 at the same venue.
Suarez eked out a 10-round unanimous decision against Mancito in their super featherweight bout.
After his defeat, Mancino’s record dropped to 18-11-2 (Win-Loss-Draw).
Before turning professional in 2020, Suarez won a gold medal for the Philippines in the 2019 SEA Games in the lightweight boxing division. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
