Elias Tabac is part of the Philippine OCR team that will compete in the 2021 Spartan World Championship in the majestic Liwa Desert outside Abu Dhabi, UAE on December 3-5.
The event set to be participated by countries around the world will be hosted by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The winners in the event will receive medals and cash prizes.
Tabac earlier won the championship in the men’s category against 21 other countries around the world in Tanzania
Tabac clocked 1:15 as he zoomed along 10 sets of physical challenges in the form of obstacles which include crawling, carrying, climbing, hanging, jumping, balancing and trail running.
Fellow Filipino, Monolito Divina, finished second and American Daniel Turner third.
Tabac, an employee of the Davao del Norte provincial government is happy and proud to represent the Philippines in the 12 days world endurance challenge.
“Para ni sa Ginoo, sa akong pamilya, ug sa Probinsya sa Davao del Norte ang akong kadaugan,” he said.
Tabac is also thankful to Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib, his local sports group, and officemates for the all-out support to his training and other needs. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
