DAVAO CITY---Three basketball players who trace their roots in Region 11 join forces bringing the Arellano University Chiefs to the 2022 College Basketball Crown.

Leading the way for these three players is Dariel James Bayla, a former college basketball varsity player who is now the team's new assistant coach.

A former captain ball of the 2018-2021 AU Chiefs Basketball team, the towering Bayla hopes to inspire the team and teach some skills to the team's big men.

A native of Davao Oriental, Bayla is thrilled that he is given a chance to serve his former team after graduation as a varsity player.

Aside from Bayla, two other Davaoenos are part of the basketball roster of the school, former Ateneo de Davao University start point-guard Kalen Axel Doromal and forward Stefan Steinl.

Doromal, a 5'9 playmaker, is expected to provide scoring and energy for the team.

Steinl, a native of Cateel, Davao Oriental

for his part, is expected to provide scoring from the bench.

Listed at 6'4, Steinl will also provide a team with a ceiling, defense, and rebounding.

A former player of the Jose Rizal University Bombers, Steinl is also one of the prized recruits of the team during the NCAA off-season. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
