Chess legend Eugene Torre gets 18 wins in simul games with participants of Ozamis Charter Day chessfest
Davao City-Despite his age, chess legend Eugene Torre once again showed that his chess skills remain unparalleled.

In the 22 simultaneous games he did last July 8-9 for the Ozamis Charter Day chessfest, Torre won 18 games and drew four.

Torre was held to a draw by the following players, Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal,
tournament organizer AGM Rey C. Urbiztondo, High school champion of the tournament, Sean Kenneth Cogonon of the University of Cebn, and Nicdao Jumaoas, former Regional meet representative of Misamis Occidental.

With the massive success of a money-rich tournament, Oaminal will also sponsor the PCL 7th Season, dubbed Governor Henry “ Henz” Oaminal National Chess Team Championship.

Oaminal also plans to host the National Inter province Chess Team Tournament under the youth and sports development of the Asenson Misamis Occidental Team. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
