Philippine Arny’s 10th Infantry (Agila) Division identified the arrested NPA leader as Charisse Bernadine Bañez, alias “Nikki,” the Regional Party Secretary of the NPA’s Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) – Regional Party.
Also arrested were Ronnie Igloria, alias “Gideon,” Vice Commanding Officer; Louvaine Erika Espina, alias “Pam,” the unit’s medic; Sinag Lugsi, alias “Jomilyn”; Larry Montero, alias “Laloy”; Daryl Man-Inday, alias “Tonton”; Arjie Guino Dadizon, alias “Ronron” and Grace Niknik Man-aning, alias "Jelyn".
Major General Allan Hambala, Commander of the 10ID Philippine Army, commended the seamless coordination between 10ID and PRO-13, emphasizing that the operation delivered a significant blow to the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and disrupted its capacity to carry out further threats within the division’s area of responsibility.
“This apprehension marks a decisive victory against the remaining elements of the SMRC. It reflects the unwavering dedication of our troops and our partners in the PNP to safeguard the peace we have established in our communities,” Hambala said.
To recall, on April 27 and May 10, 2025, Elbert Echavez, alias “Aldrin,” the RSDG Jaguar Head, and Jeffry Casal, alias “Lalai,” the Vice Team Leader, were neutralized by the 67th Infantry Battalion—further demonstrating the 10ID’s deliberate and sustained efforts to maintain peace and security in its joint operational area.
