On Wednesday morning, joint operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Village chief of Barangay Tamayong, Calinan District, Cresente Canada, a church associate of Quiboloy, while two others, Paulene Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes voluntarily surrendered to the NBI office in the afternoon of the same day.
The arrest and surrender came after the NBI and PNP served a warrant issued by Judge Dante Baguio, presiding judge of RTC Branch 12 against Quiboloy and five others in connection with a child and sexual abuse case.
On Thursday morning, Jackielyn Roy and Ingrid Canada also voluntarily surrendered at the NBI office.
All five were able to post bail at P80,000 each.
NBI 11 director Lawyer Archie Albao said in an interview that warrant of arrests were served at the identified properties of KOJC in Tamayong Prayer Mountain in Calinan this city; in Purok 2, Brgy. Caliclic, Babak District, Garden City of Samal; and Jose Maria College in Sasa here.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 director Brigadier General Alden Delvo said that although Quiboloy was not found at said locations, his counsel, lawyerTrinidad Arafol received the Warrant of Arrest.
Apart from child abuse case, Quiboloy also faces sexual abuse with a bail of P200,000.
Delvo pledges continuous coordination and cooperation with law enforcement agencies in hunting Quiboloy.
Cresente is said to be Quiboloy’s close aide, serving as the latter's driver and bodyguard, while Paulene, was former KOJC chief financial officer.
Cemañes, on the other hand is a church coordinator and Roy, a lead singer in the KOJC choir and serves as one of Quiboloy’s assistants.
Ingrid is Quiboloy’s church administrator. Cresente and Paulene are siblings.
