Power disruptions on August 25 and 27 in different parts of Davao City,  Davao del Norte
Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on Sunday and Tuesday, August 25 and 27, 2024, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte. These are necessary to facilitate substation and line works at the northern part of Davao Light’s franchise area.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 25.

Specifically affected are those from the entire Panacan area going to Unifrutti and Tibungco Public Market Malagamot Road, areas at Diversion Road Panacan going to F. Bangoy International Airport entrance, Buhangin area from Mamay Road going to Buhangin Memorial, Gaisano Citygate and crossing Milan, Cabantian Road, Amakan, Indangan, and all neighboring areas.

Also affected are those in the downtown area from a portion of J.P. Laurel Bajada going to Bankerohan up to MTS including areas going to Sandawa Road, including parts of Torres Street, Obrero, C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Quirino Street, Bonifacio Street, Ilustre and Magallanes Streets, and neighboring areas.

Customers fronting GMall Toril up to Sirawan, Baracatan, Inawayan, and neighboring areas, as well as the entire Lanang, Sasa, Pampanga, R. Castillo Agdao, and nearby areas will also be affected by this service disruption.

Furthermore, customers in the Buhangin area from Camella Northpoint to NHA Buhangin, the entire Tibungco area, Ilang, and Mudiang including Holcim, Steel Asia, entire Bunawan up to Licanan, Tadeco, Sto. Tomas, Dujali, and Licanan up to Panabo, from the San Vicente area to Carmen will also experience this power outage.

Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27. This will affect customers from Bunawan to Licanan, Tadeco, Sto. Tomas, Dujali, and nearby areas, Licanan up to Panabo, and San Vicente area up to Carmen.

Also affected are those in the Tibungco area, Ilang, and Mudiang, including Holcim, Steel Asia, Panacan area going to Tibungco Public Market, entire Lanang, Sasa, Pampanga, R. Castillo Agdao, and nearby areas.

Customers in the downtown area from a portion of J.P. Laurel Bajada going to Bankerohan up to MTS including areas going to Sandawa Road including parts of Torres Street, Obrero, C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Quirino Street, and neighboring areas, Bonifacio Street, Ilustre, and Magallanes will also experience this service disruption.

Those fronting GMall Toril up to Sirawan, Baracatan, Inawayan, and neighboring areas, and the Buhangin area from Camella Northpoint to NHA Buhangin, will also be affected by this power outage.

A two-hour power interruption will also be conducted on Tuesday, August 27 from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. to facilitate a line device repair at Panacan Substation. Specifically affected are customers from Panacan Substation to Airport View Diversion Road up to Unifrutti Ilang.

Lastly, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27 affecting customers in the Panacan area from DPWH to Tibungco area and Buhisan including Malagamot Panacan.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
