Paolo Duterte leads ‘Brigada Eskwela’ regional kick-off
DAVAO CITY – First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte backed educators to raise learners' competency levels to promote innovation and positively aid the nation's post-pandemic recovery.

“With education and a strong drive to improve our way of life, I believe we can change the world,” said Duterte in a speech read by his son Rodrigo Duterte II during the kick-off of the Brigada Eskwela on Thursday, August 4, at Apolinario Mabini Elementary School in Bangkal in Davao City.

After two years of restrictions, the Department of Education (DepEd) is currently working on their 2022 Brigada Eskwela with the theme “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral,” which will run until August 26 this year.

The Brigada Eskwela, known as the National Schools’ Maintenance Weeks, aims to bring together all education stakeholders to partake and contribute their time, effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities to be ready and safe for the opening of the school year on August 22.

Duterte II represented the young congressman invited to deliver a message to teachers, parents, volunteers, donors, and public and private stakeholders. He said his father could not attend the event due to prior commitments.

Duterte commended DepEd-Davao regional director Allan Farnazo and the entire education leadership for spearheading the 2022 school year through this event to encourage everyone to rally behind everyone’s effort to provide the best education for students.

The First District congressman also lauded President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte who repeatedly emphasized the importance of making the learners ready for the outside world.

“With more than two years into this pandemic, we cannot afford to once again hold back and let COVID-19 get the best of us. Thank you. I hope I was able to inspire everyone. May God bless us all,” Duterte said.(PR
