Through its Disaster Operations Center (DOC), the OVP has already prepositioned relief items and prepared hotmeals, and to be distributed by responders in areas affected by the latest weather disturbance particularly in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Region 4-A.
Each relief box contained food packs as well as hygiene kits, blankets, sleeping mats, mosquito nets (kulambo), slippers, expandable water jugs, and other needed necessities.
The OVP’s DOC leads all disaster response activities of the agency and coordinates closely with local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (DRRMC). The OVP-DOC is currently coordinating with different local government units (LGUs) in the areas affected by Typhoon Carina for the conduct of its relief operations.
The OVP currently awaits greenlight from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) to formally begin its relief efforts in various localities in Metro Manila and Calabarzon since the rescue phase is still ongoing in different flooded areas. (OVP)
