New Dahican baywatch tower formally opens
Authorities formally opens the new baywatch tower in Dahican aimed at bolstering both security and environmental conservation efforts along the shoreline of Dahican Beach in the City of Mati.

Personnel from the Dahican Coastal Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) conducted a coastal security patrol and attended the blessing and official opening of the newly constructed watchtower morning of August 30, 2024.

The watchtower aims to enhance coastal security and ensure the safety of both residents and tourists frequenting the popular beach area, known for its surfing spots and picturesque views.

The presence of the CGSS personnel highlights their ongoing commitment to maintaining safety and security in the region, aligning with the city's broader goals of sustainable tourism and community protection.

In a show of support for marine conservation, the CGSS personnel also participated in the release of three sea turtles back into the sea.

The event underscores the City of Mati's efforts to protect its rich marine biodiversity and its dedication to environmental stewardship.

Sea turtles, often endangered, play a critical role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems, making their release a significant step towards wildlife preservation.

The combined efforts of local authorities and environmental advocates continue to promote both safety and environmental protection in the region, reflecting Mati City's holistic approach to sustainable coastal development.
