Davao City Agri distributes over 26k tilapia fingerlings in three months
The Davao City Government, through the City Agriculturist Office (CAgrO), continues to support local farmers, dispersing 26,350 tilapia fingerlings to farmers across various districts in the first three months of 2025.

The tilapia hatchery operated by the City Government of Davao provides farmers with the resources needed to boost their operations and support their livelihood. By providing high-quality fingerlings, the city government ensures that farmers can sustain and grow their fish farming activities effectively.

According to the CAgrO’s Fishery Resources Management Services Division, 52 farmers have benefited from the program since the start of the year.

On January 24, the hatchery distributed 10,000 fingerlings in Paquibato district, 3,350 in Buhangin District, 3,000 in Toril, 2,000 in Talomo, another 3,000 in Buhangin, and 5,000 in Tugbok.

Aimee Evora, head of the division, announced in January that the tilapia hatchery aims to produce 500,000 fingerlings and assist 600 farmers.

The program not only supplies fingerlings but also intends to provide training for farmers on fish food production, helping them improve their aquaculture operations. CIO
