Police identified the victims as Jeffrey Patac Predas, 29, a resident of Extention Ilaya Santo Niño, Paranaque City and his live-in partner Jennifer delos Santos Chavez, 27 years old from Bacoor City, Cavite.
The victims, according to Bad-ang have been living together for eight years.
Bad-ang in an interview said the couple traveled from Manila to Davao City for “We The Kings” Asia Tour concert at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang here on the same date.
Bad-ang said the couple flew to Davao in a separate flight. Delos Santos flew to Davao first morning on Saturday, April 20 and Predas followed in the afternoon. The two reportedly booked a unit at the condominium.
Predas was found at 5:50 a.m. at the condominium’s ground floor, sustaining nine stab wounds on different parts of his body, while Chavez, who also sustained stab wounds was discovered by the police at 10 p.m. of the same day inside her room.
Bad-ang said the belongings of the two were still intact, including cash, cellphones, and jewelry. Police, however, found a knife inside their rented room possibly used in killing the victims.
The police are now considering crime of passion and personal issue as possible motives of the crime.
He said the police are eyeing two persons of interest (POI’s) in the incident who are identified already. These two, according to Bad-ang were the ones who booked the room for the victims.
One of the POI’s is now at the police custody and currently undergoing cross matching through finger and foot prints.
