Philippine Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) recorded zero maritime casualties during the Christmas celebrations from December 24 to 25, 2024.

In a news report, the Coast Guard said that this milestone reflects the dedication and hard work of their personnel who remained vigilant throughout the holiday season.

CGDSEM spokesman Commander Angel Tobias said that this accomplishment has been attributed through the enhanced patrols, strict enforcement of maritime safety protocols, and close coordination with local government units, including its maritime stakeholders ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.

"We commend the cooperation of our passengers, vessel operators, and the entire maritime community in adhering to safety guidelines. Your support is instrumental in maintaining safe waters for everyone," according to CGDSEM report.

CGDSEM reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding lives and property at sea.
