Christmas, New Year  in Davao City generally peaceful
Christmas day and New Year’s eve here have been generally peaceful, with no untoward incidents, as reported by Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Wednesday morning, Jan. 1, 2025.

DCPO spokesman Captain Hazel Tuazon said that there were no reported untoward incidents particularly since the start of the Pasko Fiesta,  including the observance  of the nine- day Misa de Gallo.

DCPO deployed a total of 26,000 from security and safety clusters ,including force multipliers  across all areas in the city to enhance  peace and order conditions during this period ensuring a joyful and worry-free holiday season for all.

DCPO chief Colonel Hansel Marantan, extends gratitude to all of his dedicated personnel as he also recognizes the invaluable collaboration with the city’s security and safety clusters  for their unwavering commitment resulting in zero report firecracker-related accidents and indiscriminate firing throughout the festivities. 

“The combined efforts strengthened law enforcement measures and ensured seamless public safety operations across the city,” Marantan said. 

He said this  remarkable achievement highlights the professionalism, dedication, and unity of all security forces in fulfilling their sworn duties. 

It also underscores the strong partnership between the local government unit and law enforcement agencies, working hand-in-hand to implement comprehensive anti-criminality strategies and public safety initiatives.

Through this unparalleled coordination and vigilance, Pasko Fiesta 2024 and the New Year’s celebrations stand as a testament to the city’sm unwavering commitment to providing a safe, vibrant, and memorable holiday season for its people.
