Heavy downpours caused by localized thunderstorms were experienced on January 4, causing street flooding in some parts of the city including Matina Crossing, Aplaya and Pangi.
The CDRRMO deployed rescue teams, including BDRRMC, volunteer groups and members of the cityβs emergency response clusters, to assist affected residents to designated evacuation centers. Meanwhile, the City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Health Office and City Mayorβs Office were also deployed in the centers to provide immediate assistance like hot meals and medical services.
According to initial reports, no casualties were recorded.
Currently, the CDRRMO continues to monitor weather conditions and has advised residents in flood-prone areas to remain alert as scattered rains are expected in the coming days.
βWe encourage everyone to stay updated on weather advisories and prioritize safety above all else,β Baloran added. CIO
