Based on Davao City Police Office (DCPO) records, it shows that from March 22 until 3 p.m Tuesday, April 9, the police have already conducted 69 drug related operations and arrested 86 individuals.
Ninety-eight drug cases have been filed in court against the arrested suspects.
Seven drug suspects were killed poluce claiming that they died after fighting it out with law enforcement since March 22.
After 18 days of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, the police were able to seize a total of 368, 3939 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2.5 million and 141.0324 grams of marijuana.
Eight police officers of DCPO were relieved last March 27 from their respective posts after the death of seven persons linked to illegal drug trafficking in alleged shootouts.
These policemen are currently under investigation by the Regional Internal Affairs Service (RIAS) after Philippine National Police (PNP) chief then General Benjamin Acorda Jr. ordered the probe on the alleged armed encounters with the seven drug suspects who were killed in separate buy-bust operations.
The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has condemned the incident and ordered its regional office here to conduct a probe into the alleged extrajudicial killings associated with the anti-drug campaign in the city.
Mayor Duterte, earlier said that he welcomes the investigation by the CHR and challenged them to asks records from the City Prosecutor’s Office on rape and drug cases in the city.
