6 restaurant workers injured in Damosa fire
DAVAO CITY- Six individuals were injured due to a gas leak explosion in a restaurant in Damosa Gateway, Lanang, Davao City Friday Jan. 31 night.

The victims consisting if two females and four males are  workers of Ramyeon Bar 99.

Davao City Police Office reported the  explosion started at the kitchen of  said restaurant. Witnesses revealed there was smoke coming from the 11 Kg LPG tank and accidentally ignited.

The fumes reached the nearby electric fryer causing the explosion.

The Davao City Fire District confirmed the fire razed down about 30 sqm to a  P360,000 estimated damage.

Fire responders contained the  fire around 10:46 p.m   and was later cleared from any type of explosive by the responding EOD.

Meanwhile, Damosa Land management in a statement said the victims sustained minor injuries and their condition has  been monitored.

Due to the incident, the management  announces the temporary closure of the portion of Damosa complex  to facilitate necessary restoration efforts.

The management also committed to implement additional precautionary  measures  to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“The well-being  of our employees, tenants, and patrons remains our top priority,” the statement read.
